No. 1 factor in this process is pride. Next to that vicarious shame makes other people's worlds go round.
Solution:
Reject the upcoming shame, this is ME! Deal with it, it happened, so what. Can't turn back time, so don't wish you could. Shame is a cuff on your ego, why would you always second guess your actions?
